@rsaldivar - I appreciate the info and advice. The only reason I have been shying away from platinum investment is the nightmare it will be to pick that rock hard investment out of all those crevices....::shutters:: As far as this machine.....might be something to think about. First try with Optima. I casted this pendant for some time now and gave tried to get it right. In this case, I did exactly as was instructed by the company itself. I did use old silver and there are only a couple of voids and a lot of porosity. After filing the back, I saw that most of the letters w...

@archem - Thank you! I'll do that for future models. I still have a few places with pits and voids to tend with... I just bought the optima investment and they have recommend burnout top at 1500 for 7 hours.....I am pretty sure I could cast just about any plastic material at those temps and still ge...

Just bought the optima investment....what do you guys recommend for the burn out cycle? They have a optima has a 7 hour @1500 degrees as a recommend burn out time....I originally did a 3hr at 1400. Thoughts?

Very nice! Love the designs! These are some pics of a casting that I did this morning. If you notice, there is some porosity on the surface and a few voids.
