Re: Casting resins cherry, emerald
I'd be concerned about using such flammable liquids in an enclosed appliance without any means of automatically regulating the temperature of the liquid. One mistake is all it takes for it to go up in flames. Hi Ron, That is why it is essential to do trials using a thermometer, recording the data a...

Does paraffin oil create any fumes? which is harmful for breathing? Have you heat more than 150? or always below that?. What do you thin, this one should work? https://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Paraffin-Lamp-Oil-Smokeless/dp/B00I26U9WS/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1524676514&sr=8-2-spons&key...

Re: Casting resins cherry, emerald
I believe it's that point that the water boils that does the best curing. This is also why you Don't want to add cool water. Let it cook for those 10 to 15 min between cycles. On another forum a member suggest to boil in pan of water for 10 min and let cool down. That's all he does. Thank you for r...

Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
I wonder if the fact that the wax may be trapped behind the resin during the low temp phase (300°F) of the burnout could be an issue? Hi Ron, For some people with different setups I believe that is the case. I do not have those problems however. The graining on the surface of that cast photo is bec...

Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
I have no issue with wax and resin , I think there is no problem with casting at all , its just that he is spending a lot of time in this case doing something that I think waits time unnecessarily , if it helps great but for this I think it doesn't Hi rsaldivar, not sure we are talking about the sa...

Re: Failed prints. Pulling my hair out!
Mine is at 150 for B9 Cherry Rik. Thanks Sochin. I forgot to reply. Back when I got one of the first Solus printers Mark had built, I spent months trying to get Cherry Resin to print. I was told to "sloooow" Hi Rik, No worries, I have been busy as well. Did he get it to print? Guessing he...

Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
also I get too much holes while cut spure ends n filling.. Hi Dipen, I have been joining and repairing B9 resins prints with wax for years and had no problems in Omega+ or Satin Cast. When I had the Asiga as the prints would take so much time I would often cut the model in half in CAD and join it w...
