Re: Casting with b9 emerald resin with stone in place?
I have never cast with stones in place but I believe the highest temperature for the stones may be too low for the resin to fully burn out. I suggest you look at the B9 forum to see what they have come up with.

Re: Print failure chart
Thanks for the input. I would imagine you are getting tired of answering the same questions. I redid my supports and had another go at it. The projector shut off mid print about halfway. Tried again this morning and some still fail. I'm printing the back half of the bracelet again. After I did my su...

Print failure chart
Hi everyone. I'm still trying to get complete prints over the entire build plate. I rarely have everything print and I thought from re-reading the entire forum, that this time, it was possibly from stretching the film from having to clean off misprints. I replaced the film and the first print is not...

Re: 'hi-tech' upgrades
Thank you so much for the drip hanger picture! I have been so puzzled that it was designed to drip onto the casing. Ha ha! (Of course it wasn't, I just didn't figure it out)

Re: Airflow in burnout
Well, my casting went better than I have come to expect. I think vacuuming is the answer. Yeah! Something is up with my kiln though. It stopped before it was at casting temp and it kept shutting off instead of holding. I'll read up and see what is wrong. It was a windy day and may have been electric...

Re: Airflow in burnout
That sounds great. I guess this will be my only cherry casting. Although, it doesn't sound too difficult to cope with anyway. I love the surface on these models. Yeah, Solus!

Re: Airflow in burnout
I'm using plasticast and I do a pretty long cycle. I'm going to up my top temperature to 1400 to see if I will get rid of the dark stain around the spru. I hold at the top for 3 hours and I use small flasks. Thanks so much, I'm glad I won't have to mod the kiln. Sherry

Airflow in burnout
Hi everyone. I'm just starting with the Solus printer and finally have good models to cast. I've been having models printed for me for a few years and have used a few tricks to get better castings. I have found even better ones on this forum. Thanks so much for that. I have a question about improvin...

Re: Please introduce yourselves
Hi, I'm Sherry. Just purchased and have not set up my new printer and I'm soooo excited. I've been in the jewelry business since '82, custom hand carving until 2010. Been using CAD for the last 6 years and I'm looking forward to having a chance to redo files if I think the prongs are too small or th...
