Re: SolusProto and Mould Inhibition
After some time, the mouldmakers came back and told me they had solved the problem. When I asked for details as to how, they failed to respond to my email at all. Unfortunately, it is an industry full of companies which don't like to share, presumably in order to keep a competitive edge. I should no...

Re: Timeout when turning projector on
Yes, I do that every time, unless I forget. Today I forgot, so thought it would be worth asking. The timeout is understandable, but the need for a restart following it baffles me.

SolusArtGrey failure
My first print with SolusArtGrey, fresh FEP, Contour 2.1.17 Beta on default settings: ImageA ImageB The supports are still connected to the build plate, but most of the print remains on the FEP blocking light to prevent further progress. Surprisingly difficult to remove from the FEP using the silico...

Timeout when turning projector on
Whenever I leave it to Contour to turn on the projector (Vivitek), it doesn't wait long enough and gives me an error message. I then get an error message every time I try until I close and reopen the software. Are there any plans to fix this? Version is 2.1.17 Beta, and I'm currently updating to 2.1...

Re: Skin/flash layers stuck to print
I have it sat by my desk, and I'll use it on the next batch of miniatures for GCT's Bushido game. Working through the last few ml of the Proto for my store stuff.
I also picked up a sample bottle of the Wax. The makerspace where I have my desk doesn't have casting facilities yet, though.

Re: Skin/flash layers stuck to print
Lower [the intensity slider] gradually and test with something small until you have no more flashing layers like those and until you're happy with the improved print quality. I was surprised to see the light from the projector was blue with the intensity set to 6, down from 7. Prints came out very ...

Re: Skin/flash layers stuck to print
I did another print yesterday, and it seems fine (phone-camera today though). 2018-09-21 12.38.46.jpg I was careful to tighten the thumbscrews only a little, and shook the resin for even longer - this time with an acrylic die in the bottle as a mixing-aid. I also cleaned the underside of the FEP, as...

Skin/flash layers stuck to print
Hi. I've sometimes been getting a 'skin' attached to prints, similar to what the user 'sprue' has detailed here . Usually, this is thin and doesn't seem to affect the overall print quality. Yesterday, however, it was very bad. Thick enough to be rigid, and there are some bad layers in the print. You...

Re: SolusProto and Mould Inhibition
Word back from the mouldmaking company is that cure-inhibition isn't actually the problem, despite that being previously mentioned (I think the person emailing had not confirmed with the actual mouldmaker). The masters are actually sticking to the mould rubber and, presumably, tearing it. Vulcanisat...

Re: SolusProto and Mould Inhibition
Thanks all. I should note that this is for miniature production, not jewellery. Monger- It is interesting that you recommend platinum-based (addition-cure) silicone, as this is usually more easily inhibited by the presence of moisture, sulphur, etc. than tin-based (condensation-cure) silicone. I wil...
