Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
SolusCast printed amazing but I could not get it to burnout clean. Over the years I've learned processes that burnout Emerald pretty well. Give me something that prints like SolusCast and can burnout cleaner than emerald and I'm a happy man.

Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
HEY! Looks like we have a new castable resin on the way, SolusWax. The name alone sounds promising to me. Can not wait for a clean easy burnout.

Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
Where can Epic be purchased?
Mix 50/50 Epic/Emerald. Are you using Emerald settings for printing? I assume the burnout for Emerald will be fine for this 50/50.
Thx

Re: Whitegold - Castings with emerald resin
Thought to refresh our continued Superior success using the Solus printer. Emil, you and your company are the best. We cast at 1400°(ramp 9999 on the controller) full blast straight in the furnace after the flask sets 5 hrs in Opti Cast....ramp down 650°per hour then cast at 850°. How in the heck d...

That window looking design has a lot of wax sprues. How do those wax sprues look in that cast? Are they smooth and clean or are they flawed too. If they are flawed like the SC cast then you have an issue apart from SC.

Do you have a class ring type cured SolusCast ring with font like rsaldivar is describing as problematic that I could test cast? I do have a well calibrated programmable furnace.

Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
M-Williams, It was very early on when I was trying to use Soluscast. My situation was that parts needed to ship but my cast were not turning out good enough to ship. I had to go back to what worked consistent for me, which is Emerald. SolusCast printed very nice for me and would like to go with it a...

Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
rsaldivar You've been working with SolusCast for awhile. You probably know more than most. Do you have a cure and burnout cycle that is working for you? The SolusCast printed amazing for me but I could not get it to burnout without leaving residue. Everyone was saying cure-cure-cure but that didn't ...

Re: Any ideas as to what is causing this 14kW
rsaldivar - That is emerald. What I did with that ring was to add a very light coat of wax. Fortunately the design was organic so adding that bit of wax only added to the organic look. What is happening with these resins is that in tight areas it leaves residue that simply can not clear out. I think...
Re: DB Studio
That is impressive. How will you sprue that?
