Re: Solus Wax Resin
Since it was asked in a previous post, I thought I would share our first platinum cast with the Soluswax. Came out just fine. Wasn't expecting any issues since our Gold castings with the material have been just fine. For investment we used the R&R Plasticast PT. I also attached a picture of the ...

Re: Solus Wax Resin
This resin sucks! I want my money back! lol Joking of course. First print went smooth without any troubles and our test cast of the sample we got went great so I don't expect any issues moving forward. The pictures you are seeing here was after the attempt to cure it. (Promise it looked a million ti...

Contour License issue
Went to run the machine this afternoon and contour is asking for my license information again. Trying to put that info back in and it does not solve the issue. Any ideas how to fix that would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Kevin's work
Been kinda boring on the custom side lately. ( By that I mean, lots of three stones, halo's etc. LOL ) This one was one of the uncommon requests that came through recently that just got finished up. Combination of some CAD/Zbrush Sculpting. Turned out great and customer loved it. It was quite the &q...

[quote="mongerdesigns"]And you're positive that it's ash left behind and it's not investment breakdown of some sort?[/q Our caster mentioned after pulling a reverse vacuum on one of the flasks that he could still look down into it and still see some ash that was still inside and couldn't b...

Have you tried holding for a little longer and slightly higher temp on the high end?
Our currently setup for casting has us holding for 5 hours at 1560 F before casting. Not sure how much farther I could go up in temperature before having issues with our investment.

Re: Kevin's work
Totally forgot to update ya on how our in house pieces came out after casting so I won't have any pictures for this post. All of them came out fine for the most part. The biggest issue we seem to be fighting with this material is the removal of ash. Before we cast, we pull a reverse vacuum on the fl...

Re: Kevin's work
Wow. Great design, cast and finish. Has your casting house cast SolusCAST before? Could you explain your curing process before sending off for casting? Thanks :-) Rik This was the first project that we sent to them with this material. Techform is who we use for our platinum castings and they've hav...

Re: Kevin's work
Well missed the chance to get the rough casting pics when the piece came back in but did get some good shots of the finished piece. Customer was thrilled to death with how it turned out.
