The step is only important if you need to ramp up quickly, but in your case for the B9 burnout, it just means it will take longer to get to temperature.
I think at a 10°C/minute step, you will be fine.

Binary is a smaller file size. They both contain the same information - you can just read it yourself using the ASCII file format.

Re: Minimum Step Size (resolution) of Lead Screw
I haven't found a solvent for cured methacrylate resin that works the same way acetone 'melts' the surface of ABS.
I think you are left to using physical methods (sanding, polishing, etc.) to remove layer lines or other defects.

Re: Large Ring Failing -- Would you all be willing to give some support advice?
The second example was the best print so far and I would make some modifications from there. Re: B9 Yellow Castable Resin Testing
Maybe I read your comment wrong Robin, but I wouldn't expect the resin to shrink during casting since the investment has already captured the shape of the object. The metal on the other hand will shrink while cooling.

Is that hogged out of a block of aluminum? If that is so, that price is great!

14KW seems like overkill for faux and lab-created gemstones.

Re: Short Lamp Life
That is why even though it may be more expensive to buy it from the manufacturer, it helps prevent any confusion from grey market or 'refurbished' lamps being sold as new.
