Hello y'all,
If you print two identical parts on the same platform that turn out to have different actual values, it is probably due to your calibration. I have learned a few tricks over the span of 6 months and I would like to share my experiences.
Whether you are using the +10 close up lens or the +4/+1 both have barrel distortion that will make the parts along the extremities larger than intended. A good diagram is actually from sprintray.us that make the moonray
Following the videos from wistia in the calibration only the overall length was measured while distortion was not taken into account. I created a simple set of grids to aid in the calibration and setup of your Solus. If you do manage to print the grid in color, the red cross hair will be visible while the black would block light. Try putting the grid upside down for a cool way of visualizing the distortion

That is a pretty exaggerated example from the Moonray folks because optics with that much barrel distortion are useless for any application unless you intentionally want a fisheye type look. Do you see that much distortion on your uncorrected grid?

Yes, also the distortion for dlp projectors is not centered like that. More towards the top, because they project from the top area of the lens instead of the center.

Thanks for sharing
Re: Grid Alignment Print Aid
This is what I got with no scaling and no adjustments.
Re: Grid Alignment Print Aid
i think need to mod projector for high accuracy, i calibrate many time but model alway distortion along xy and z axis, i think u should have better solution mark.
