I have a special set of micro flush cutters that work well. My goto support removal tool is a ground down hart burr. It makes quick work of supports.

I took and old pair of long needle nose pliers, too flimsy to be much good for bench work and ground them into a pair of fine cutters with a long reach. They work very well.
