So many failed prints

Postby artcad » Mon Sep 18, 2017 8:42 pm

Hi everyone

I have so many failed prints I see one reason why this is happening,if I put vat on the quartz normaly I can move the vat smoothly
so I can put the thumbscrews easily on its place but now it sticks I can hardly move it and if I take it of the quartz looks dirty, looks like the quartz
is to high, any help would be appreciated ,thanks.

If the film is sticking to the quartz that is a problem. Sounds like you have resin on the quartz and or the bottom of the car. You might have a pin hole in the film or just where resin got on it some how. I would totally clean the car and the quartz so it slides without sticking. I just use Windex.

Thanks Archerm I had resin on the quartz 1 day ago and I cleaned the quartz and changed film(very hard to get the resin of the quartz).
Than with the new film it was still sticking,I think the film was too loose maybe and after several failed prints I changed the film again this time
tighter and printed again this time at least the models were there but one was cracked and the other is soso, this is maybe a support issue I am going to print it once more see what happens, there were also very thin skin like parts on the prints so there is something wrong here.

If the vat is sticking you still have resin on the quartz or vat. the vat should slide freely. Try Isopropyl alcohol to get it all off the quartz be gentle with the quartz.

For intel graphics it's called quantinization range. Has to be set to Full.

1 - Filter Resin
2 - Stir Resin
3 - Check RGB settings on gfx card
4 - Check your support structures so no "islands" are present w/o supports
5 - Check your film tension (They sell spacers to make sure tension is set right)

good luck!

? is your bottle 3/4 away , in other words are you getting to the end of the bottle ? if so , depending on how well you took care of it ( shaking and stirring ) or from contaminants , Might be time for a new one ??
