Too many Mis prints

Postby EddyF » Wed Jan 24, 2018 11:09 pm

I think I always had too many mis-prints. but now I'm getting one of ten. And now I'm decided to figure out why I get so many. And never been successful at printing 80 x 45
The project has 800 hours on the bulb, but Infocus replace the machine a year ago.
I lubricated the Z screw and increased exposure to 3 seconds, Buffer time to 2, level the build platform cleaned the mirror.
The last picture is the Solus test rings. I stopped it after I saw I had problem, the other pictures are two different beads

Hi Eddie, email me and I'll have you run a few tests to see what the problem could be. Have you tried printing using a different resin?

Did you calibrate the grid to 80x45. Focus the projector, grid. Put the right arrangement of close up lenses? Could be a film problem. How old is the film? Put in at correct tension? So many things that can cause it.

For what you are printing in those pic's, I don't see why you need the larger print area.

Yes, new film, i have played with tension. These are all at 48x27. I having a lot of mis print now. But is always has been about 50%.
When I first got the solus it printed fine. then about a year in, I had problems printing. I got Infocus to replace the project for another one. But I'm not sure how to test the project or bulb

This doesn't look like a film issue. Seems like not enough light is coming from the projector. Try increasing the exposure time by 1 second. See if that does anything.

What are you looking at that makes you think it could be lack of light? uniformity of failure?

Just so you know when I added one second and it would print.
I changed to a new bulb tried 2.6 seconds at 20 and had some pieces fail. So I'm going back to adding I second on the prints again and see if they all will again.

Like I said, your new bulb that you purchased could be weaker than normal. Not sure why.
