Print sticking to film

Postby vermande » Sat Dec 26, 2015 5:54 am

Hi,
I am new to printing, I got the Solus a couple of weeks ago, with various degrees of success.
I seem to be having constant problems with the prints sticking to the film.
I have (already) replaces the film, as it was slightly scratched. I am using fresh resin, well mixed. I have lots of support on my model.
My setting are as per manual supplied.
Any idea?

Thanks in advance,

This is a big no no. 23000 for the layer exposure will most likely damage your printer. That's for the base/bottom exposure. The exposure settings are already included in the software.

Todd, be careful what you post. Be specific and precise with what you write.

When are the prints sticking to the film? Assuming your base is sticking, i'd be using default supports, and an appropriate amount of them. orientation of the part can create a lot of surface area (to stick to the film) to contribute to failure.

If the base isnt sticking (or releasing during the print), you need to calibrate the build plate. The base should be stuck very well when properly calibrated and appropriate base exposure is used.

Bad film can contribute to failure. Improperly installed film in the tray, or not enough resin may affect the print.

Once i got mine figured out, i havent had a single failure, though i'm not using default settings.

The base is printing perfectly but when it starts to print the x2 rings (plane band 7mm) it sticks to the film, do you know of a good program that does autosupports like (preform) ?. Could it be a problem with the ring because i didnt see it with netfabb?
Thanks for your help

Hi Kerstien,

Can you email the stl to me at reify3d@gmail.com and I'll try to show you how to add the supports.

Preform is great for showing the areas that need supports but unfortunately you can't export with it. We always recommend running the supported model through the NetFabb cloud service. It has solved many a fail.

May I ask which settings you changed?
