Quartz Detached from Printer

Hey all,
I went to set up a print today and noticed that the Quartz piece was slightly detached from the printer - it had slid about 5mm to one side. I have no idea how this happened - I genuinely take car of the printer. I slid the Quartz piece back to center, the glue/adhesive was slightly gummy so with a little force I was able to slide it back. I'm running a test print right now to see if it's still functional.
But my question is: If this print fails (or even if it is successful), is there a recommended method to avoid this from happening again? Can I remove the Quartz piece, clean it, apply some adhesive, and reattach it?
Thanks!
David
