2 rings 1 design 1 failed print

Hi,

I printed 2 rings of the same design, 1 a gents and 1 a ladies, and the top inlay section of the gents failed to print correctly. Also, about half way up on both models the print appears to have moved 1mm to the side and continued printing. Does anybody know why either of these errors have occurred?

Ted

Hi,

Any chance you bumped the table or opened the lid while it was printing?

Since the fail on the large ring is flat across the top I suspect it's some kind of power saving setting on your computer or even the screen saver. Please make sure they are all disabled, especially the usb selective suspend setting.

the printer wasn't knocked as far as i'm aware and i had to wait for the last 20 minutes of the print to finish and all that was on the laptop screen was the slice view. I'm re printing the model this morning so will post pictures of the result later.

thanks

I've re printed the model and it appears to have come out OK this time, thanks for the suggestions though :D

are my supports too thin?? is that why they bend?

Yes,

Those look too thin. See how they are bending? How thick are those? I suggest making them at least 1mm in diameter.
