I started a build and came back a few minutes later to find that the plate wasn't moving up and down. It went through its homing cycle before I started and when I started the build the platform went down to the bottom like normal. When I came back in it was just making horrible grinding noises and wasn't lifting at all.
I was able to get the platform and the resin tank off the machine but I still can't get the arm to move.
arm stuck at lowest position
Re: arm stuck at lowest position
This doesn't appear to be the same problem that I've had in the past.

Re: arm stuck at lowest position
I'm guessing there's a mechanical issue and I'm going to have to take apart the machine. Any info on a safe way to take this thing apart?
Re: arm stuck at lowest position
I'm not sure if this will help but did you turn it off, unplug the power cable from the back, wait a few minutes for the power to discharge and then manually try to turn the lead screw? I'm not sure you have to unplug the power cable but it's worth a try.
Re: arm stuck at lowest position
With the power off I can get it to wiggle back and forth ever so slightly but that is about it.

Re: arm stuck at lowest position
Hmm... Highly unlikely that the motor is damaged. Perhaps the anti-backlash nut at the top of the arm is worn out or damaged?
Try removing the 3 screws from the triangular anti-backlash nut, lower the arm safely down, then see if you can turn the motor screw by hand.

Re: arm stuck at lowest position
The arm is at the bottom, so after removing the three screws I spun the backlash nut up off the arm and still wasn't able to get the motor screw to turn

Did you unplug the power cable? Perhaps the switch is broken.

Re: arm stuck at lowest position
I did unplug it. There is a very slight difference when the power is on vs. off. When the power is off I can slightly wiggle the screw, when the power is on I cannot move it at all.

Ok. Email me then. Your motor might be damaged and might need to be replaced.
