Solus Setup

Postby KevMan » Mon Sep 11, 2017 4:31 pm

I ended up buying a second Solus. So now I have one with the metal plate I'm setting up at 25xy and the other is set at 42xy. I'm kind of really excited about it now. Hopefully this will minimize fussing with the prints now and I can focus on design more. I just thought I'd share my setup since it came together very nicely.

That looks great Kev!

However.... I see some issues with your setup.

The projectors seem to be too close to the wall. Heat may get trapped and get sucked in back into the projector. That can shorten the life of the bulb, or even overheat the projector and cause other issues.

Also the projector in the back is for sure blowing all the hot air to the projector in the front.

What I suggest is turning the setup on the Right so the the projectors are back to back. That way the hot air blows away. Also you can put a small fan to make sure the hot air doesn't linger around there, and cool air is being fed to the intake vents ( you see them now in the picture)

Hi Emil,

I'll change that around and have the projectors opposite of each other. I do have a fan running at all times in the room circulating the air along with a Air Purifier. I have about 6" to the wall, do you think I need more clearance than that?

Thanks,

Kev

I think around 10" of clearance should be better for airflow, but if you're directing a fan there then it should be fine.
