It could be the switch on the homing pin. Mine broke and that's what it did.

Open up the printer and look at it. The board may have cracked so instead on pressing the button it just bends.

When did you purchase the printer? It may be your tilt motor and might need to be replaced.

This is exactly the same issue I am having right now. I think my tilt motor might be bad. I know I have the old tilt motor. During the homing operation, the quartz table should tilt, correct? I noticed the pitch is off when the z axis is coming down. It doesn't sound the same. There's no bidding or anything and I can twist it by hand no problem but the sound it makes isn't as fluid.

I realize that it's important to remove the build table and the vat when homing. I assume this is because the quartz tilts and you could pinch the film in the vat if you don't remove it. Is this correct?

Kristy, I strongly suggest upgrading to the new tilt motor.

I saw on FB that it was $85.00 to upgrade the motor. If that's the case I would like to go ahead and do it. I just want to make sure it'll fix this homing issue I am having. When I depress the plunger on the limit switch it feels like it it depressing the button. Is there any other way to make certain the limit switch is still good?

It’s most likely the motor. If you press the sensor and it clicks then most likely the sensor is fine. The new motor will solve the issue for you.

Thank you. I'll call Emil on Monday and order the new motor. It's good to know what the issue is.
