Intel Graphics

Hi there,

I am looking to buy a dedicated machine to run Solus.

I have read that the recomended graphic card is the integrated Intel HD 5500.

Since technology is advancing so rapidly, its hard to find new machines with older graphic cards.

Has anyone tried running Solus with integrated Intel Graphics 620 or any other "successor" to 5500?

Should it work? The technology is about a year younger, therefore quite faster, but I am not sure, if it also plays nicely with Solus. What do you think?

Thank you and kind regards,
Ziga

Hi Ziga,
I am running Contour on a 630 in a Lenovo Tower, Windows 10 that just runs the Solus. No issues at all. Sweet as and real easy to set up.

cheers,

Currently running a HP with Intel 530 on one printer which is setup at 25Z and getting very nice prints (I've posted a few pics in the forum elsewhere).

I've got a Dell laptop with Intel 620 graphics in the order cart right now for the other printer. It'll be setup for 42Z. Debating between it and another laptop with Intel 630. For me decision is more around CPU & memory than the 620 vs 630. I'm not the patient sort and hate waiting for scenes to load (wicked grin). In our workflow we setup the Solus scenes on our CAD system, put 'em on a NAS (WD PR4100) and download them to the target printer's laptop out in the workshop.

Should have something setup this weekend?

Haven't tried any NVidia graphics.
