Infocus IN3138HDa

this projector will do 3200 lumens in eco, and 4000 in normal. any reason this projector wouldn't work?

In eco mode, this thing will put out more than the 8606 in normal. i've checked, and the lamp is a mercury vapor, so it will cure resin. question being, is there such a thing as too much light?

we're looking to get a backup projector, and be prepared for when we purchase our next Solus.

There might be. I know another person on this forum, Samatheang, tried a 3500 lumen Vivitek DH913 and got poor results.

Yep, it was a pain. Not recommended. You might need a lot of time to test everything yourself and got no where like I did. I suggest just go with what work for you now.

I spent more than three weeks testing everything I can think of with the Vivitek DH813, and I did turn exposure down little at a time until 1s, but at 1s, it decreased the surface quality and still have the flashing problem in every print. I am not sure, maybe my Vivitek DH913 was defective, but I got it brand new from Walmart though. Anyway, if you want, you can give the Infocus a try and see, but make sure you can return it if it doesn't work.

Here is the problem I had with the DH913 (Pictures Attached). There were always cured thin pieces left in the Vat or stuck to the model after every print.

Also I heard higher contrast helps improve surface quality, so I think you should look for a higher contrast projector instead of higher Lumen, and the IN3138HDa has only 8000, which is the lowest compared to other.

Hope this helps.

i appreciate the feedback, we just want redundancy and were looking for something that could be better.

i guess my next question would be, what is the best projector option now that the 8606 is discontinued?

Yep, Optoma HD37 as Emil recommended above is pretty good and also affordable. Plus, it has 20k contrast, which is double the Infocus IN8606HD.

Hi, i am new in the forum.
Just a quick question, if i buy the optoma HD37 will i have the set of lenses for the correct calibration of the printer.
And a last question the optoma does it gives better results for the surface quality vs the infocus and vivitek.
Best Regards
