second display not recognised?

so i set up my solus a few months ago and had it printing, i took a few months off due to being extremely busy and now that i have time again i was looking to get back into learning this machine again but now when i plug in the machine and the projector, it doesnt seem to recognize a second display..i think, i dont remember for sure, but i think when i disconnected it i deleted the second display and now i cant get it to detect the machine again..i am using a vivitek projector with the vga cable (couldnt get the hdmi to work when i was setting it up the first time)

anyone know what i need to do to get the second display working again?

are you using the HDMI cable? Or VGA cable. It's best to use the HDMI. Hook cables up turn on projector then computer. It should "find" the projector. If not check you port settings.
