Auto projector shut down

Postby MobiusJewelryDesign » Wed Mar 01, 2017 4:42 pm

Greetings, Solus Nation! I am wondering if anyone else has been able to get the projector to shut down automatically? I have used the rs232 cable and checked all the right boxes but without success. Has anyone else had any success with this?

No reason why it shouldn't work. Make sure to select the correct projector from Edit/Preferences.

Also, post a screenshot of your PORTS section in the Device Manager.

I had that when I switched over to contour, but reistalling the driver for rs232 fixed it. Search the forum, I think its in here somewhere

I have no problem. Try a different port. Make sure in Control Manager that your ports are set to never turn off, or go idle. Power settings set to High performance, so computer doesn't go to sleep or hibernate.

I occasionally get this problem with the newer versions of Contour. A workaround I've found works (most of the time!) is to...

1. Do not turn on your projector
2. Open Contour
3. Go to Setup, then click "Connect to Controller" This should turn on the projector using the serial cable.

Now you know contour is talking to the projector.

I have been trying to find this driver.....I cannot for the life of me find it or figure this out. (I am a jewelry designer not a techno guru.....I have solved computer issues with a hammer folks.) sigh......I figured it was plug and play......apparently not. Can someone kindly tell me where I might find this mysterious driver that can drive me to a "don't have to worry about my projector staying on and now I don't have to run up and down the stairs to check on it ever again, hip hip hooorraaay!" destination? Please sir, can I have a little mor....
