Contour Error

Postby Shogun » Sun Sep 11, 2016 11:27 pm

Hi,

I am trying to run Contour/the Solus printer for the first time today. When I open Contour and choose the 'Setup' menu option and click on Project Grid I get an Error. The error title is 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'. I have attached a picture of what the error message looks like. I have followed the setup instructions properly (as far as I can tell). This is the first time an error has occurred. Is there a setting I need to change? Thanks for any and all help!

Also, If I try opening Contour while the projector is plugged into my laptop's HDMI port, it opens as a blank black screen. I have tried with the projector both on and off, but this still happens. I then have to close the program, unplug the projector from my laptop, open the program, then plug the projector back in for it to open properly. Is this normal?

It's a bug it seems. We will eliminate it in the next update.

The fix is to go into Edit/Preferences first and selecting your Optoma projector and pressing ok. Then restart the software.

After that it should work just fine.

Hi,

I have tried that already. I selected the Optoma projector and pressed okay. Restarted the program, same problem. Uninstalled and Reinstalled the program, same problem. Restarted computer, same problem.

Try selecting a different projector, then press Ok, restart and then go back and select the Optoma.

If that doesn't work, I will call you on Monday and connect remotely to your PC to see what the issue is.

Hi,

Did this happen after an update?

Have you tried turning on the projector and checking it is the extended screen before opening Contour?

Hi,

After an update for what? This is the very first time I've tried using the printer and using Contour.

It is the extended screen, I have checked. However, if the projector is plugged in to my laptop before I open Contour, Contour won't open properly.

Hi,

Is it plugged in and turned on before opening Contour?

Hi,

I have tried all combinations. Projector plugged in and on, plugged in and off, not plugged in and off, not plugged in and on, projector and solus plugged in and on.. etc. Nothing seems to work.
