Whats the process for not breaking things ... I can't get the software to move the arm up without a homing cycle which it can't do when the arm has a print on it which is on the film not raised from it ....

how do i fix this without breaking anything?

Hi,

Turn the power switch off and rotate the Z lead screw by hand to raise the platform.

Drain the vat and strain the resin to make sure you have removed all debris. This is important. To remove the resin stuck to the film you should first lightly press from the underside of the film with your finger. Do not wipe the film with anything but a soft tissue or cloth.

Always home ($h) after turning the power back on (with the build plate and vat removed).

Thanks ... I hope there will be a way in software to pull it up without homing in the future

I ended up just cutting a print that was gonna fail because of it in half to clear enough room

You can use $x to override the homing cycle but you need to be very careful as it will use its current location as Z 0 so the upper limit will be off. If you want to use $x, I recommend only using Z +1 until you are high enough to remove the build plate and then remove the vat and $h right away so it can set the proper home positions.

Safest is to just turn the power off and rotate the lead screw by hand.

Is there a list of all codes and their operation?

$h - home
$x - override home
Etc. ?

Sure, but don't think you'll need any of them:

$$ (view Grbl settings)
$# (view # parameters)
$G (view parser state)
$I (view build info)
$N (view startup blocks)
$x=value (save Grbl setting)
$Nx=line (save startup block)
$C (check gcode mode)
$X (kill alarm lock)
$H (run homing cycle)
~ (cycle start)
! (feed hold)
? (current status)
ctrl-x (reset Grbl)

you're right, probably won't need that...

could you explain what these features are in the slice profile?
I've looked for a manual for CW, and couldn't find it on their site.

Lift sequence time
z bottom speed (lift is obvious, I assume this is z down speed)
z retract speed
slide/tilt value

Please see part 7 of the Solus manual...it explains all the important variables. The slide/tilt value is the tilt distance in mm. Please leave this at the default.

As mentioned in the previous post, the important slice parameters are explained more clearly in Part 7 of our manual. And for initial setup, I suggest following our videos (obviously you've already completed this part).
