Based on many requests, we are introducing a Solid/Fixed Mount upgrade for the Solus 3d printer.

The fixed mount is made from a solid piece of aluminum and is designed for a precise and steady mounting of the projector to the printer. It also helps with keeping the two perfectly level, and eliminates the chance of accidental loss of calibration.

It's recommended for for fixed setups. If you don't plan to frequently switch between XY resolutions. Both 25 and 42xy resolutions can be setup with this mount.

Emil, The aluminum mounting plate came in but it has no instructions on where the different screws go. I have the printer set up for 25 micron printing with the InFocus projector. The plate only has two holes where the projector can attach to it. That is OK, its pretty stable on the platform but the back end of the plate that overhangs has two smaller holes with only one extra long screw that fits in that hole. With nothing screwed in those holes the back end of the projector is unstable and needs supporting. I suppose that the three screws that have black plastic tops act as legs for the underside of the projector using the spacers. I could be wrong since I have no picture to go by. The long skinny screws that attach the printer to the base could work as stabilizers in the rear of the projector but there was only one screw left over that fits in those holes after mounting the printer to the plate. The old metal connector plate that originally came with the printer mounted to the projector with three screws but there are only two holes in the aluminum plate that line up with my projector with those original screw holes. That may be intentional but I also may have it mounted wrong. I don't think so though. I guess I could just stick something under the back of the plate to level it, but one extra of the long skinny allen screws could have done the job. Let me know if there were drawings made for screw placement and where I could find them.

I will send you some instructions later today or on Monday. Yes, the plastic knob screws need to be used with the aluminum tubes for mounting the projector to the plate.

I understand that its suppose to keep everything steady and stable , and it looks great , but I guess I don't see why one would need one , Has this been a problem for users , will this help with fails ?? aside than bumping it what else would this be useful for ?

I'm too rough with my Solus (I come from a machining background) so sometimes when I'm trying to close/open the Solus cover, I accidentally raise the entire front of the printer. Also, I end up moving them when trying to clean underneath them. I can see the benefit of having this plate which was something I thought about for a long while. I'm glad they offer one now. My printer isn't level and I'm not sure whether that affects my prints or not but I try to eliminate all possibilities. No one's forcing you to buy it and they're not increasing the cost on a new Solus either.

The problem with a not leveled printer may be of concern with a tall print/low resin in tank, this may attribute to one side still having resin while another may not.
