Update on my experience with the Solus Wax resin. The previous casts my burnout schedule was 350 for 1.2-2 hours then 800 for 1.5 hours then up to 1430 for 4 hours like I cast the b9 green. Emil told me that was wrong as the resin may melt into the investment and cause breakdown. Took this ring, uv on each side for 20 minutes, let sit for 5 hours in the can after investing then straight up to 1450 for 4 hours.
The only marks are from the supports. Came out pretty nice, no grow lines as I grew it at 25 on the solus. I was able to use one of the rings on the double cast, being set as I post. Lasered the gents ring, coming out great.
I have to give Emil credit for taking over a year to develop this resin and he is still tweaking it. That is what we are all looking for, a good resin, easily castable.

Re: Solus Wax Resin
Since the "cat's out of the bag" a little here, I just want to provide some additional info about this new resin that we're working on.
It's called SolusWax and it's mostly wax-based. It's designed to provide easy casting similar to wax, also smooth surface quality. We are still optimizing the settings, and once we're ready we will open pre-orders for this resin by announcing it here, via email and via various forums and social media.
This is a game-changing castable resin that should make resin casting issues a thing of the past.
More info will be released soon.

That's sounds good !!! These is a great announced...!
Re: Solus Wax Resin
I'm a great fan and supporter of Solus.
I was waiting for almost a year for the SolusCast to come out. All the promotional videos and claims were very promising. After my experience with Solus Proto i was sure that this resin would solve many problems associated with printing and casting given that the Solus team had already released an excellent MOLDABLE resin.
I was very disappointed, after spending 300 euros, to see that SolusCast was not casting well. Not so about the money i had spent but the fact that the claims were not corresponding to reality.
I did not want to judge the resin but as i am following the forum daily, i saw that other people were not casting the blue well. At least it was clear that is was more difficult to cast than the Emerald. Maybe it was because people were used to the Emerald and the knowledge around it had grown. SolusCast prints shaprly but thats not the point.
My point is: PLEASE don't rush to release this new resin SolusWax if it is not ready. Honestly, even though is tempting, i will not rush to buy this resin unless i see a lot of users casting it well. At least it has to be formulated to cast better than Emerald and be tested with different kinds of ovens(gas, electric, big, small),investments, casting machines and curing units to confirm that it cast well with different setups and machinery. If it is not casting easier and better than Emerald people will stick with the Emerald or any other resin that is working out for them. Simply because they don't have time to lose on experimenting and testing.
p.s I was in Arezzo show Italy, and asked about the new solidscape s390 specifically designed for jewellers. 49000 euros. I was thinking that my Solus cost me 4000 and has made many amazing jewelry possible so far.

I agree with you also I did same.....for Soluswax many will not buy like how SC resin people order blindly that also by using normal investment and curig new box..May be SC resin they had given to few casting compnays but those have high end equipments so it wont work for small caster like us....i'm still trying testing !!!....I love my Solus printer.

Re: Solus Wax Resin
We plan on selling sample bottles of the SolusWax and also sample prints (not to be confused with custom prints) so that anyone who wants to try before they buy can do that just that.
Here are some test castings that are done not by us, or by large casting houses, but by your fellow Solus users. More to come soon.

Re: Solus Wax Resin
Just got my printer back up and running. Replace tilt motor. Trying out the Wax resin. I have cast a few pieces with great success. I'm bad about not taking picture as I go. Just ordered a new light box that I hope will help. My main issue is getting the resin to stick to the build plate. And incomplete builds. One thing that help that I saw posted was to coat the build plate with some blue Solus Cast. Emerald green might also do the trick.
