The WaxCast resin by MakerJuice is an affordable castable resin. Wax-like in nature it promises great castability.

Pros: The resin is very affordable at $50 per half a liter. Easy to print with and super fast. Very smooth surfaces and high details. Don't need to mix the resin often. Changes color when post cured. Tested (by Makerjuice) casting schedule, that works with Plasticast investment.

Cons: The resin is very brittle, just like wax. Need thicker supports and support tips. It won't stick to the plate easily and need to use larger bases or else the prints may fall off mid-prints. Larger slices may delaminate and shift/slide around a bit (this may be related to not being able to easily attach to the base).

For all that is interested the Maker juice resin can be treated the same as machine wax ONLY after it has been fully cured. Cure time is dependent on the thickness and most take as long as 2hrs to fully cure. I have a cure box but what works the best for me is direct sunshine. Burnout schedule is 2hrs @ 500f -- 2hrs @900f -- 1.5hrs @ 1450f and 1hr @1100 to cast. For me the resin game is over! I get very nice prints, beautiful castings and a fast burnout. I would bet that you could do a 3hr burnout with dental investment. Hope this helps.

Just wondering if you can wax set this resin or if the burnout temp is too high for diamonds

We have successfully done stone-in-place casting with it during testing.

What is the burnout temp when you do this? ... I assume mixing it with Emerald would forfeit this feature

Let me get the information for you. This was specifically tested with WaxCast (which worked in our tests) so I cannot speak for what will happen if you mix someone else's resin in with WaxCast.

I believe instead of doing 1350F we topped out at 1200F and held it there for longer. All of the other time and temperatures were the same in our burnout schedule.
