Proto curing entire build footprint

Postby Jack_Row » Wed Nov 09, 2016 2:12 pm

Hi I received a new projector about a month ago and since then whenever I try to use proto, I'm finding that the entire build footprint is being cured, resulting in a thin rectangular sheet of cured resin stuck to the film.

All my RGB settings are correct and the computer has not been connected to the internet for months so I have had no auto updates.

This doesn't happen with the emerald, which I am only building at the moment. I'm using contour standard settings.

Could it be that my bulb is too bright? Or a projector problem?

Thanks

That has to be the full rgb issue, but you're saying yours is set at full? Did you mix the bottle well and shake it? Also, which projector are you using?

Full RGB is enabled. Bottle is very well mixed. I have an Infocus IN8606HD.

Perhaps yourself or mark could log-onto my laptop to check my settings?

Update. Ilve tested B9 Emerald and Form-labs Castable V2 resin, both no issues.

Would you choose one over the other for casting or about equal results?

Update: I've just had a longer build fail with the formlabs, at about 80%. Resin stuck to film. This is the same problem as I am having with the emerald.

I've noticed some very thin bit of sheet-like cured resin stuck to the film. I'm thinking this is from the 'black' slowly curing the resin, as with the Proto, which is perhaps happening at at a much less noticeable level with emerald, causing failures.

Think I need one of the support guys to look at my laptop graphics settings. Can't quite work out what's going on.

What are the specs for your pc? This is 99% due to the FULL RGB not being enabled.

So Mark connected to my PC and confirmed that FULL RGB is 100% enabled. But Obviously what's being projected is not the full spectrum. So, I tiered two things, which seems to have solved the problem. I'm not sure which one actually did the trick.

1. I have an Intel integrated card and an Nvidia dedicated card. In 3D settings on the Nvidia control panel I set applications to only use the integrated card.

2. I also downloaded and applied this patch http://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-cards-don ... res-a-fix/ then restarted my solus laptop.

So I think that the problem was with my Nvidia card....
