SolusCast Burnout

Postby Storen » Wed Aug 23, 2017 3:39 pm

I just received the SolusCast and went over the instructions:

- Should I preheat the oven to 300F before inserting the flasks?

- What are the recommended temperature ramps (F/h) between the burnout phases?

- What is the recommended orientation of the flasks during burnout? With the sprue-gate Up or Down?

- What are the recommended temperature ramps (F/h) between the burnout phases?
According to our caster, if your oven has an automatic timer then it should calculate the ramp time already. That time was already included in the burnout times. Should ramp up to temp within 10-15 min, so should be around 28-30F per minute.

- What is the recommended orientation of the flasks during burnout? With the sprue-gate Up or Down? Down.

I have a Paragon programable oven. The controller allows the ramps to be programed from 1F to 1850F per hour. There is no Automatic setting. All resins I have experimented with so far require different burnout ramps. The copy of the instructions I received has only the hold times. Not the ramps (F per hour/minute).

Is that the ramp (30F/min) we should use between all 4 burnout phases? Usually different ramps are requred. Could you please confirm this with your caster or the resin developers.
