1475 F. Pretty happy with the casting. I also cast this same ring in the same flask using emerald and it was unusable. These items were cured to the extreme. That included baking for hours at 150 F. I don't think there's anything wrong with plasticast, it's all about curing and a good burnout.
Cheers, Robert
Very nice casting. If you are curing using a nail box, The lamp would surely get you closer to a perfect casting with the solucast. the prints with solucast are phenomenal.

Hi M-Williams; I'm using a 20 watt unit mentioned earlier in this thread but I also have a nail curer. I've been putting models under this lamp for approx. 12 hours. I also bake in a counter top oven at around 150 F. If I have time, I will also put the
models in the nail curer over night.

I would say it prints as well as the Epic-m .Tough curing is key for the solucast. Marc.

About the lettering in the pictures above... I used to have trouble with lettering also. For this ring I outlined the lettering and then extruded the outline part way up the letters. This makes the pockets shallower and less likely to break. If I'm doing a job where I have to repeat as in school rings I try to taper the letters if possible. This reduces breaking dramatically and also pretty well eliminates bubbles being caught in the lettering. This takes extra time at the design stage but you get a lot less failures.

What angles seem to work best for you? Also, font selection is very critical as well.
Re: Casting SolusCast
I don't worry about angles. You can't do this by extruding. I do an inner and outer outline and then raise the outlines to the thickness I want. Then loft and cap. Pain in the ass. That's why I only do it for something I'm repeating. The heavy silver casting above was done with soluscast but I still have a Revo Mill if I get stuck.

Wonder how well your letters would scale. If you saved the angled letters in a file and imported it to what your working on.

Hello Everyone,
I did casting 18kt White gold using b9 emerald n small loops (SC resin) curving 10 hours underwater UV nail box n 2 hours normal oven @75° C.....CADCAST SRS 40/100 investment 5 hours bench then 150° C for 2 hours, 465°C 1 hour, 775°C 7 hours, vacuum flask abt 20 seconds, casting @630°C all @10ramp per min.
Didn't come out clean loops, but Emerald came out perfect.
vacuum casting method.
What would u advice.
