hello;
I plan to buy a solus very soon. The quality of prints on this machine looks crazy and I ask myself a few newbie technical questions! why can not I use my computer while printing?
is it still true even with 2 screens?
thank you !!

Re: using computer
You can. However it's not recommended. For example if a program window or a pop up of some sort gets on the projection screen display, it will interfere with the printing.

Re: using computer
It isn't usually pop-ups that you have to worry about, although depending on your screen setup that can be an issue. The issue is bogging down the video and processor. I was just using my laptop to browse the internet and reading facebook. Ended up clicking on a link which took me to a page, the ads/flash, etc bottlenecked the CPU that printer paused. I thought it had locked up. 10 seconds go by and finally, it moved and printing continued. I thought for sure that print would have been ruined, fortunately, it survived.
Also since you have two monitors hooked up, keep in mind that the Projector becomes another monitor. So now you have 3 monitors, 2 actual screens, and one projector. It can cause other issues just from that.
The best suggestion is to get a cheaper laptop or even mini desktop to run the printer. Setup a Google Drive or Dropbox to sync/share. Then use your other computer to slice your files, setup your supports and save the scenes. Then open them on your Solus CPU and print. It is definitely a huge benefit to be able to slice and create scenes, while my printer is printing.
